Say hello to modern text! We used the latest technology to rebuild the text-rendering engine in Storyline 360. Text flows beautifully, with consistent spacing and readability on every device. You can be confident that what you see in the Storyline editor is what learners will see in their browsers.
Where classic text might have previously displayed with unusual spacing between text characters (kerning) in some browsers, modern text gives you perfect spacing in all browsers. Bold and italicized fonts also render consistently across browsers.
Finally, fonts for variable references and data-entry fields are now embedded in HTML5 output so learners always see the correct fonts on every device.

New Storyline 360 Projects Use Modern Text
New projects no longer have the classic text option and use modern text by default. Just create your course and publish it. It’s that easy!
You can further upgrade project text to enable text autofit improvements, which offers finer control over text and options for making text more accessible. Just go to the Design tab on the ribbon, click Fonts, and select Upgrade Project Text. This upgrades all project text at once and saves a backup copy of the project file with the original settings at the same time.
Existing Storyline 360 Projects Use Classic Text
Existing projects that use classic text will continue to do so, but you can easily upgrade text to apply modern text and enable text autofit improvements.
Note that switching to modern text can slightly change spacing, so blocks of text may wrap differently. You may need to adjust the size or placement of text boxes after switching to modern text. We recommend reviewing each slide and layer in your course after upgrading to make sure everything looks the way you want.
If you prefer to use classic text in an existing project, there’s no need to switch to modern text. You can continue using classic text.
To switch back to classic text after upgrading to modern text, open the project file backup copy that contains the original settings.
