Google no longer allows videos with audio to autoplay in Chrome 66+. As a result, a video on the first slide of a Storyline or Studio course might not work. Here's how to update your courses so learners have the best experience in Chrome.
How to Make Videos Work in Google Chrome
We added support for Google's new autoplay policy to Storyline and Studio. To publish new courses that work in Chrome, install the latest software update. Click here for Storyline 360 and Studio 360 updates. Click here for Storyline 3 updates.
To make existing courses compatible with Chrome without republishing them, simply scan them with our mass update tool. Here's how.
What Learners Can Expect
Learners using Chrome will see a play button when they launch or resume a course with a video on the first slide. Clicking the play button starts the course and allows the video to play. Videos on other slides should autoplay as expected (unless your slides are set to advance automatically without user interaction).
Tip: As of July 2021, you can customize the play button screen by adding a course cover photo.
