Studio 360: The End of Flash Importing and Publishing

Article Last Updated

This article applies to:

Since Adobe discontinued Flash at the end of 2020, we removed the options to import Flash movies and publish Flash output from Studio 360 on May 4, 2021.

Studio 360 doesn't need Flash. The May 2021 update didn't change that. It simply removed the Flash authoring features, as described below. Let us know if you have any questions. We're happy to help!

Flash Movies

You no longer have options to import Flash content (FLV or SWF). Those options were removed from the Presenter 360, Quizmaker 360, and Engage 360.

However, Flash content will continue to work in existing projects, imported slides, and templates.

Flash Publishing

New Studio 360 projects only publish HTML5 output, which works beautifully in all major browsers on desktop computers and mobile devices. As a result, you won't see a Formats property or an option to publish Flash output, as demonstrated here.

If you previously published an existing project with Flash output and saved the project file, you still have the option to republish that particular project with the same formats as before, including Flash.

We don’t recommend publishing to Flash. Since Adobe discontinued Flash, it could pose a security risk. We no longer update Flash features or provide technical support for Flash publishing.
